I am a self-taught artist/illustrator. Born and raised in the Stockholm suburb of Hässelby. There is a lot of concrete, but also very beautiful green areas and a lot of culture, which is done to give a lot of inspiration.
Art has in many ways been a big part of my life, as my grandmother was an artist and there you always got to paint when you were little, which I thought was very fun. My grandparents and parents were also very interested in art, so I grew up with a lot of art in various forms around me and always felt that they encouraged me to paint and sculpt, which I am very grateful for today. When I was little I painted some in oil but in my youth graffiti took over and it is something that can be reflected in my art even today. But with age you get other interests and I opened my eyes to urban environments and buildings with a lot of detail. Imagination also plays a big role in my creation because everything you are involved in and see in life you take with you into art, where every painting and sculpture has a message and a story. Now I feel that I have found my own style, where I mix realism, surrealism, graffiti, strong colors and a lot of fun and special details. You probably never stop developing and I like to try new mediums and techniques, but the basic idea always remains with me. What I want with my art is that you should know that it is a Wentzel you have on the wall and that the viewer should see and be able to read in new things every time you look at it, that you should be happy and hopefully create your own messages and stories based on their own thoughts and experiences. It can be that street you walked on at once, love, happiness but also sadness. Ideally, I want you to be so happy that you can continue the day with a smile on your face. Only then am I truly satisfied 🙂
